Flax Forward Community Conversation 2 – Growing and Processing Flax
Free entry – booking advised.
Join us and our panel of experts to discuss the future of flax growing and processing in West Dorset.
Flax Forward is a community-led project uncovering the lost heritage of flax and exploring its potential for a sustainable future. Working with local farmers, historians and makers, the project is helping to revive a craft at risk of disappearing altogether.
This second Community Conversation is an opportunity to hear from growers and processors about their experience of the Flax Forward project. Our panel will include; Nick Evans (Fantasy Fibre Mill), Jocelyn Bailey (Bridport School of Regenerative Textiles), Ellen Simon (Tamarisk Farm) and Dave Dixon (Wessex Community Assets). Panel chair Dr Sam Rose, Executive Director West Dorset Wilding.
The evening will conclude with performance of flax songs and stories gathered as part of the research into Bridports Flax heritage.
